Description of Position
Helping those during life’s most acute and disruptive moments due to psychiatric illness and substance use/abuse requires providers who are sensitive, skillful, resilient and hopeful. The Police Ride Along Clinician supports the resiliency, wellness, and recovery of all members to whom it provides services and integrates mental health, substance use disorder, and wellness/recovery principles and practices.
Responsibilities include
- Actively participate in ride-along co-response with the local Police Department
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends
- In partnership with the identified Police Department, provide follow up care to 911/Police calls
- Actively participate in community outreach/educational visits as deemed appropriate
- Assist law enforcement with section 12’s, section 35’s and section 18’s
- Attend CCIT meetings
- Assist with homelessness outreach as needed
- Complete case consults with multidisciplinary teams
- Assist in referring individuals and families to appropriate services along the continuum of care
- Develop a safety plan and provide crisis management to support the client and family
- Attend all necessary meetings, supervision and trainings
Requirements
- Candidates should hold a license-eligible Master's degree or be independently licensed as an LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT.
- Licensure supervision is available
- The candidate must possess good organizational skills, as well as effective verbal, written and computer skills.
- Proficiency with computers including ability to use or learn to use an electronic health record
