The role you’ll contribute:
Under the Radiologist or other physician’s supervision, the Radiologic Technologist fulfills the responsibilities necessary in the use of radiography, integrates scientific knowledge, and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and useful diagnostic information. Radiographers must maintain a high degree of accuracy in Radiographic positioning and exposure technique. Radiologic Technologists prepare for and assist the Radiologist in the completion of intricate Radiographic examinations. The technologist will provide patient-first service with consideration to safety and operating under the guidance of management and/or established facility policies and procedures to provide an excellent patient experience. Addressing and resolving customer service, communication, efficiency, and safety issues with a high degree of professionalism, without bias, and acting in good faith with the goal of establishing an appropriate, effective, safe, and consistently applied resolution to these matters. Will serve our patient population with a commitment to cooperate, collaborate, working inclusively with all necessary team members (regardless of background) with other team members across modalities within imaging as well as across all departments within the organization. Meets the expectation to engage in cost reduction, expense management, and effective use of supplies and equipment. Discontinue use and report any malfunctioning equipment. The Technologist will participate in leadership-directed performance improvement and accountability endeavors to meet the standards of AdventHealth and all related governing bodies such as radiation safety (ALARA, proper wear of radiation badge, etc.), patient privacy, JCAHO, etc. Demonstrate personal and professional growth and participate in continuous professional development. Maintains satisfactory participation and attendance at required meetings and staff development programs.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Can perform basic radiologic and fluoroscopic procedures to include upper GI Series, Barium Enemas, IVP, and Cystograms.
- Can perform portable exams.
- Can operate all radiographic rooms.
- Can work with minimal assistance in ER and Main Radiology.
- Is able to teach and assist others.
- Works well independently with minimal supervision.
- Operates portable image intensifier able to provide fluoroscopic assistance in the following procedures: ERCP, esophageal dilations, bronchoscopy, and colonic decompensations in endoscopy. Pacemaker, Swan-Ganz insertions, acid, intra-aortic balloon pumps in the ICU and Central Line Placements. Temporary/permanent spinal cord stimulator insertions, acetabular/pelvis fixation in the surgical setting.
- Can perform specialized fluoroscopic procedures in the Radiology Department to include myelograms, arthrograms, lumbar punctures, hysterosalpingograms, nerve blocks, epidural steroid injections, and discograms and can perform limited exams in surgery to include retrograde pyelograms, spinal laminectomies, and intraoperative cholangiograms.
Qualifications

- Graduate of Radiologic Sciences program
- AS or BS degree
- ARRT (R) or Registry Eligible
- Florida State License - General Radiographer
- CPR Basic Life Support (BLS)
