Overview
We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Engineer who will work closely with project managers, electrical engineers, architects, general contractors and owners. In this role, you’ll be the subject matter expert delivering conceptual designs, progress drawings, and final construction designs of system architecture that deliver functional and practical systems. You’ll assist the team in successfully delivering the design of access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, telecommunications networks, audio visual, and other limited energy systems. You’ll have responsibility to direct, coordinate and exercise functional authority for the planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of technology scope within a project or assigned area. You’ll regularly attend project and design review meetings, both internally and with external partners.
This is a full time, exempt position and reports to the Technology Project Executive of our Preconstruction department. It is based out of our Redmond, WA headquarters and is a fully in-office role, with some flexibility for remote work. Our office is open from 6am-5pm; team members have flexibility with their daily work schedule, based on their needs and the needs of their team and the work.

Responsibilities
As our Low Voltage Engineer, you’ll manage a range of project types and phases ranging from simple concepts through the construction phase of projects, while assisting project management with design changes and other revisions and problem-solving approaches. You’ll collaborate with the electrical team for pathway coordination and power demands of systems.
This role requires someone who is motivated to innovate and keep a finger on the pulse of technology by researching and presenting design options, new technology, and new integration practices. You’re adept at communicating with customers in meetings and presentations and strive to understand and define their needs.
Additional responsibilities for this role include:
- Performing the preliminary electrical power and cooling calculations for coordination of the electrical and mechanical teams
- Coordinating utility and other service providers for telecommunications
- Managing and coordinating internal and external design elements
- Reviewing drawings and research codes to verify compliance with city, state, and county regulations and ensuring a high level of quality control
- Reviewing vendor information and verifying or researching solutions as necessary, to ensure system compatibility
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of experience with multi system installations, and 5+ years of experience with multi system design for Minimum Security, CCTV, and Telecommunications projects. You’ll need to have an understanding and knowledge of Fire Alarm, Controls Logic, Wireless Systems, and Electrical Theory.
Additional qualifications needed for this role include:
- Strong knowledge and familiarity of the National Electrical Code (NEC, NFPA) and local AHJ Requirements.
- Strong knowledge and familiarity of the BICSI TDMM (Active RCDD is a plus)
- Other beneficial credentials: CCNA, PSC, CTS, CEA, NICET II or higher is a plus
- Strong working knowledge of Bluebeam and Microsoft Office is a must; AutoCAD and or Revit is a plus.
Skills and Abilities
Success in this role requires the ability to manage multiple projects at various stages concurrently. It requires a high level of interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal, and someone who is a self-starter, capable of working both independently and as a member of a group.
Additional Skills that will contribute to success in this role include:
- Ability to work well with wide range of levels, from executive management, to peers, and other more junior team members
- Excellent organizational and design skills, as well as project management, task management, and problem solving

Compensation
Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000 per year
