What the Role Entails:
At GLCOE, the Family Resource Specialist plays a pivotal role in enhancing the patient experience during provider appointments. By offering real-time support, they bridge the gap between healthcare providers and the essential resources patients need. From peer support to connecting families with vital services, the Family Resource Specialist ensures that every patient has access to comprehensive care and assistance beyond what is typically provided during appointments. This unique role is dedicated to making healthcare more accessible and supportive for all.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) – “What you will need”:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
- License/Certifications: N/A
- Experience: 2+ years of work experience in a health or mental health setting preferred. Excellent communication and critical-thinking skills required.
- Self-identify as a person who has a family member who has received services related to an autism or developmental disorder diagnosis.
