A distinguished hospital is actively interviewing for a Medical Sonographer to join a busy Acute Care Imaging Department.
The Lead Acute Care Sonographer will join a hospital that offers a wide array of inpatient and outpatient services to the community, including Wound Care, Oncology, Orthopedics, Neurosciences, and Cardiovascular Care. This medical center has been recognized at the local and state levels for excellence in patient care and superior outcomes.
The Lead Sonographer will report to the Diagnostic Imaging Manager and will work closely with modality services leaders to ensure patient care standards and workflows are followed closely. Operationally, this person will work to improve service standards for both internal and external customers and will play a significant role in keeping activities for the Medical Imaging Department organized.
The Lead Ultrasound Technologist will also take responsibility for both Clinical/Patient Care aspects of Imaging. Working directly with patients, this person will follow protocols in equipment adjustment and patient adjustment to ensure a comfortable and efficient experience.
Working alongside an experienced team of ARRT Radiology specialists and generalists, this person will have opportunities to learn new modalities and expand their experience. The Lead Medical Sonographer will also support physicians during exams and procedures, gaining valuable experience along the way.
The Medical Sonographer will work 12-hour day shifts, primarily on weekends. As shift availability opens up over time, so too will the flexibility of this role. A wide array of certifications will be considered for this role, including:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Sonographer (S) Certification
- Vascular Sonography (S)(VS)
- Breast Sonography (S)(BS)
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- OB/GYN
- Abdomen (AB)
- Breast (BR)
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)(VT) with OB or ABD
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) with Adult Echocardiography (AE) or Pediatric Echocardiography (PE)
- Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
