Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Collects data and collaborates with the RNs in the assessment processes of patients experiencing acute psychiatric crises.
- Facilitates the implementation of nursing care plans promoting emotional well-being as delegated.
- Educates patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
- Fosters a safe and nurturing environment that encourages and reinforces constructive interactions amongst patients.
- Monitors safety of patients and the environment of care and assists patients with activities of daily living.
- Conducts age-appropriate psycho-educational groups and administers medications, monitors for side effects and efficacy.
Education
- Current Illinois state license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- Completion of an approved Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) educational program.
- BLS Certification.
