Acuity International is currently seeking a PA/NP to support our Middle East program. The PA/NP will be assigned to deliver health care and treat patients in a small austere medical/trauma hospital dental clinic. The PA/NP will report directly to the onsite Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and clinically supervise registered nurses and paramedics assigned to the hospital clinic and emergency department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides medical services within the scope and level of a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to preserve the health of employees and client personnel.
- Systematically assesses the urgent or emergent health needs of patients, orders and interprets tests. Formulates a plan of care, with other members of the medical team.
- Recognizes and treats illnesses and injuries according to established best practices of Western Healthcare.
- Identifies and records the signs and symptoms of physical and mental conditions. Completely charts the patient interaction in an electronic medical record.
- Thoroughly exercises skill in initiative, judgment, problem-solving and decision-making daily. Maintains flexibility, agility and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Communicates effectively with other members of the healthcare team and patients. While working independently, there is the expectation to utilize the covering physician for all questions.
- Possesses knowledge and an understanding of established policies, procedures, and practices for safeguarding information (HIPAA, PHI, PII), including maintaining confidentiality of all company proprietary information.
- Relies on research, cognitive reasoning and follow-up skills to complete tasks, fact-check, verify and document information.
- Assures proper storage and maintenance procedures for all equipment and supplies.
- Performs duties in a safe manner and follows the corporate safety policy.
- Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with contract requirements as directed by the PM or CMO.
Qualifications:
- If candidate is a physician assistant, they have graduated from an accredited or provisionally accredited by the American Academy of Physician Assistants and hold a NCCPA certification.
- If candidate is a nurse practitioner, they have graduated from an accredited nurse practitioner school and hold a AANP or ANCC certification.
- Full unrestricted U.S. (State) licensure, certification, or registration required in a state, territory or commonwealth (i.e. Puerto Rico) of the United States or District of Columbia.
- At least three (3) years of experience in a clinical setting providing patient care as a PA or NP.
- Have and maintain current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). Must have all certifications prior to deployment.
- All healthcare providers must have recent clinical experience in patient care for at least 6 months out of the past year.
- Required to have drivers license from country of origin and ability to get international driving permit.
- Must have a valid, current U.S. Driver's License.
- Must have a current U.S. Passport.
- Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write and communicate in English.
- Work hours are based on a 72 hr. work week; typically six 12 hour days but other variations may apply.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be confirmed by a medical examination to be "medically and dentally fit" in accordance with Acuity Medical Readiness Guidelines and Policies and/or as dictated by the Client.
- No conditions that would prevent the wear of personal protective equipment; including protective mask, ballistic helmet, body armor and chemical/biological protective garments or conditions that would prevent the capability of donning, lifting or carrying of up to 70 lbs. of referenced gear while running to a bunker or protected area in the face of perceived or imminent danger.
- The climate is desert-like, hot, and prone to dust storms.
