Job Summary
Nuway Express is seeking qualified and experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners to provide temporary medical services for federal offenders at the FCC Petersburg. This role involves delivering mid-level practitioner services within a correctional environment, ensuring healthcare needs are met according to established protocols and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with staff and consulting physicians to plan, evaluate, and revise healthcare programs.
- Conduct health screenings, evaluate medical conditions, and provide emergency medical care as needed.
- Manage daily clinic operations, including routine and emergency care, minor surgical procedures, and the administration of medications.
- Document patient care activities accurately in medical records.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare standards and institutional policies.
- Monitor and adapt to delays or adjustments based on the correctional environment.
Qualifications:- Must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
- Minimum of two years of documented work experience in a relevant role.
- Valid licensure and CPR certification are required.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a correctional environment, demonstrating professional behavior and adhering to security protocols.
- Must provide proof of freedom from communicable diseases and may be required to undergo testing for tuberculosis or other communicable conditions.
Operational Requirements:- Must be capable of performing minor surgical procedures (e.g., suturing lacerations, incision and drainage).
- Ability to interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory results, radiographs, and electrocardiograms.
- Must have experience in screening for physical and mental health conditions.
- Must maintain up-to-date and legible clinical documentation.
Schedule:- Eight one-hour sessions per day
- Monday through Friday, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
