Wannamoisett Country Club is located in Rumford, Rhode Island, where the club consistently ranks as one of the best courses in the state by Golf Digest. The club was founded in 1898 to promote the game of golf in New England. A rough 9-hole design existed until 1914 when renowned golf course architect Donald Ross redesigned the existing holes into an 18-hole championship layout. The club would play host to the 1931 PGA Championship and since 1962 annually hosts the Northeast Amateur, which consists of the world’s top college golfers and amateurs. Notable tournament winners include Dustin Johnson, Collin Morikawa, David Duval, and Ben Crenshaw, amongst others.
