Job Description - Research Assistant II, Part Time (3308309)
The Research Assistant II will work with laboratory members, principal investigators, and other staff to assist with clinical and laboratory-based research.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The technician will assist with specimens’ collection/biobanking data entry and enrollment for clinical research trials. If needed, the RA will assist in cell culture, RT-PCR, and animal studies.
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Knowledge of immunohistochemistry/Western blotting/RT-PCR.
- Familiarity with microscopy.
- Familiarity with basic laboratory protocols.
- Ability and willingness to work with small animal research.
- Careful attention to detail.
- Self-directed learning and ability to work semi-independently.
QUALIFICATIONS:
BA or BS in a scientific field. Prior laboratory-based experience. Dedication, attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work in a highly collaborative and interactive environment. 1 year prior experience required.
