Your Role on the Team
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director (AD), incumbent is responsible for coordinating recruitment of potential research participants for clinical trials at Stem Cell Research Center- Alpha Clinic (UCI-AC), within GCP guidelines. Responsibilities include coordinating clinical trial advertisement/outreach/marketing and speaking with potential participants regarding eligibility and study details. Incumbent will contact potential participants by their preferred method, help create recruitment materials, manage social media accounts, coordinate community events, outreach to internal and external health care providers, screen for potential participants in electronic systems, triage potential participants to study teams, and recruitment related administrative tasks. Incumbent will develop and establish a process to review, manage, and oversee all pending potential research participants to ensure eligibility per study protocols, timely follow-up, the highest standards of patient experience, and in compliance with regulatory obligations. Incumbent will be responsible for creation of recruitment materials to be reviewed by the AD prior to submission to sponsors and IRBs. Incumbent will also coordinate community outreach events, which may fall outside of working hours or on the weekend.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required:
- Ability to develop and lead educational sessions with diverse clinical groups.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
- Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of campus and hospital administration staff, faculty, and industry sponsors.
- Experienced and comfortable on the phone, particularly in a clinical setting and discussing medical terminology.
- Strong organizational, planning and time management skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work after-hours and occasional weekends for community outreach events.
- Excellent organizational skills: high attention to detail, ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks concurrently, and function under time constraints.
- Demonstrated evidence of successful multi-tasking and complex problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to use proper English grammar and spelling.
- Ability to independently compose correspondence and design spreadsheets/databases.
- 3-5 years of work experience with a BA/BS in biological or health sciences or equivalent experience.
Preferred:
- Multi-lingual (Specifically, Spanish, Korean, or Vietnamese)
- Demonstrate knowledge of human subjects' research as it pertains to recruitment of participants.
- Knowledge of OnCore or other CTMS's and Epic EMR or other EMR's.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Experience working with IRBs, CROs, and Pharmaceutical Sponsors.
- Experience working on Canva or other illustrative tools.
- Demonstrate understanding of clinical trials and enrollment procedures within GCP guidelines and HIPAA requirements.
- Knowledge of University IRB policies and procedures as they apply to the submission and conduct of clinical research recruitment materials and methods.
- Familiarity with University policies on outreach events.
- Experience with social media platforms, such as, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
