Position Specific Description
The Energy Systems Analyst Intern for the Transmission Fundamentals Team will collaborate with other team members to design and build a unique software tool to look beyond the existing planning processes to identify and evaluate the transmission and generation needs of the future grid, and then design projects to meet those needs.
This position is part of a team performing technical modeling and analysis to identify, evaluate, and support development of new opportunities on the transmission system. Our goal is to identify opportunities where others have not—and get them built!
We highly value knowledge of grid planning and operations, developing novel analysis approaches or tools, and working with diverse geospatial and time-series data.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with colleagues to create new analysis tools and models to identify, design, and evaluate new transmission and generation projects.
- Identify enhancements to state-of-the-art tools to better identify optimal transmission opportunities from the analysis of a multitude of scenarios and sensitivities.
- Collaborate with internal and external Subject Matter Experts to arrive at the most cost-effective and competitive transmission solutions.

Required Qualifications
- High school grad / GED.
- Maintain active enrollment in a Bachelor or higher degree program.
- Maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
