Nurse Manager Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Manager to lead our nursing team in providing high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of nursing practices, particularly in acute care settings. This role requires a compassionate individual who can effectively manage staff while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and care.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures to enhance patient care.
- Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations.
- Coordinate patient care activities, including case management and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Manage patient assessments, treatment plans, and documentation in accordance with ICD-10 coding standards.
- Provide training and mentorship to nursing staff on best practices in dementia care, memory care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Ensure proper IV insertion techniques are followed and oversee medication administration protocols.
- Facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers to promote optimal health outcomes.
Experience
- Proven experience in acute care settings is required; experience in medical offices is a plus.
- Familiarity with coding practices, particularly ICD-10, is essential.
- Experience in case management is highly desirable.
- Previous work with patients who have developmental disabilities or dementia care experience is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with staff, patients, and families.
- Ability to lead a team while fostering a positive work environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $186,900.00 - $267,000.00 per year
