Wake Forest University School of Medicine at the Charlotte campus is dedicated to advancing medical education through innovative technology and cutting-edge teaching methods. We are seeking a motivated and skilled Part-Time Anatomy Lab Specialist to support the development, implementation, and utilization of educational technologies within our MD program.
Job Summary:
Part-Time Anatomy Lab Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the integration and effective use of innovative educational technologies in our anatomy curriculum. This role involves direct support for faculty and students in the face-to-face classroom setting. Additionally, the specialist will assist in the instruction of anatomy and imaging in both digital and live environments, including the use of Sectra Tables and plastinated specimens.
Key Responsibilities:
Technology and Curriculum Support:
- Support the use of Sectra Tables and other digital tools during instructional sessions.
- Integrate and manage clinical imaging files, including PACS files, and ensure their availability in the Sectra system in collaboration with radiology and anatomy faculty.
- Collaborate with anatomy, radiology, and other faculty members on course content development and integration of new technologies as required.
- Support the maintenance, storage, and display of human plastinated specimens and anatomical models used for educational purposes.
Instructional Support:
- Provide hands-on assistance to students in conjunction with lead faculty during anatomy and imaging education sessions using Sectra Tables and other digital tools.
- Ensure the availability and maintenance of plastinated specimens for lab sessions and coordinate their use with the Anatomy Discipline Director.
Training and Supervision:
- Assist in training and supervising student teaching assistants, faculty, and staff in the effective use of anatomy classroom and lab technologies as required.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Anatomy, or a related field required, Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience with Sectra Tables, virtual dissection software, and medical imaging (PACS) files preferred.
- Prior experience with teaching in higher education preferred.
- Experience with education electronic platforms, such as Canvas, ExamSoft, and Epic, is a plus.

Schedule:
This is a part-time position located in Charlotte, NC. Position requires employee to be on-site during daytime teaching hours. Typical commitment is 20 hours per week, with potential for additional hours during peak academic periods.
