The Opportunity
The Speech-Language Pathologist will be responsible for providing intervention in the areas of articulation, language, and fluency. They will assess student needs, provide high-quality speech and language therapy, and collaborate with both school personnel and families to provide services to students. Essential duties
- Designs and implements intervention programs, which remediate deficit speech/language skills of identifiedu00A0 students
- Works with school personnel and parents to design and implement the studentu2019s intervention plan, individual service plan, or individual student plan most appropriate to address the studentu2019su00A0 need
- Offers consultation and collaboration with school staff and parents in support of studentu2019s speech languageu00A0 goals
- Acts as a resource to parents, school personnel and other caregivers in the area of speech/languageu00A0 development
- Administers appropriate screening and/or diagnostic tests to determine childu2019s speech/language competency, if requested
- Interprets diagnostic tests, identifies strengths and weaknesses in areas of speech/language skills, and generates reports providing feedback to school personnel andu00A0 parents
- Is knowledgeable concerning all policies and procedures as established for theseu00A0 services
- Completes required paperwork in an accurate and timelyu00A0 manner
- Light lifting, walking, and/or climbing stairs may beu00A0 required
The Qualifications
- Bacheloru2019s Degree from an accredited institution of higher learningu00A0 required
- Masteru2019s Degree from an ASHA accredited university isu00A0 required
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist license/credential isu00A0 required
- Certificate of Clinical Competency isu00A0 preferred
- Experience working with students in a school setting isu00A0 preferred
