The postdoctoral associate position is immediately available for ambitious, independent, and motivated candidates who will train and work directly under the mentorship and supervision of Dr. Hacisuleyman. They will be responsible for running a multidisciplinary research program focused on understanding how learning and memory are encoded at the molecular level in the brain, using a variety of molecular and cellular biology techniques, vertebrate animal models, and bioinformatics tools. It is expected that the successful candidate can design, execute, and interpret their experiments and is willing to collaborate with experts in other disciplines to supplement and/or enhance their research program. Key responsibilities also include participation in local, national, and international scientific conferences, assistance with grant applications, and commitment to nurturing a respectful, supportive, and welcoming work environment.
EXPECTED SALARY:
Commensurate with experience level and in accordance with current NIH postdoctoral salary guidelines.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) or MD in biological sciences or chemistry.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven ability to work independently within a research lab
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Mentoring experience
- Proven scientific communication skills or grantsmanship
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
