Job Description
The Worship Leader is responsible for the execution of the weekend experience at the congregation. They lead worship, oversee production and programming for the congregation, and develop volunteer teams. This position reports to the Lead Congregation Pastor. A full-time position, the schedule generally includes weekend services, meetings at our office in Irvine, and additional time during the week for a total of 40 hours. This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Responsibilities
Program
- Collaborate with the Central team and the Congregation Lead Pastor to program and execute the adult weekend experience.
- Oversee the execution of worship, programming, and production to provide an excellent, immersive weekend experience.
- Ensure services are executed with little to no distractions to worship, hosting, or message.
- Work in collaboration with the guest experience team to help provide a cohesive, intentional, and welcoming experience for all guests.
Worship
- Serve as the primary worship leader at the congregation, including singing and playing an instrument as necessary.
- Oversee volunteer mobilization for the worship team at your congregation.
- Successfully audition, onboard, and schedule volunteers.
- Develop the musical proficiency of your team, and partner with the Central team training curriculum.
- Disciple volunteers through rhythms of connection.
- Manage and maintain musical instruments under your responsibility.
Production
- Serve as the primary production lead at the congregation, including having a baseline knowledge of the AVL components under your responsibility.
- Oversee volunteer mobilization for the production team at your congregation.
- Successfully interview, onboard, and schedule volunteers.
- Develop the technical proficiency of your team, and partner with the Central team training curriculum.
- Disciple volunteers through rhythms of connection.
- Manage and maintain production equipment under your responsibility.
Qualifications
- Education - Degree or license in a related field preferred, but not required.
- Experience - Minimum of 2 years of worship leader experience.
- Leads worship with excellence and speaks with confidence from stage.
- Demonstrates proficiency in one or more of the following instruments: Guitar or Piano.
- Proficient in Planning Center, scheduling, and song organization.
- Experience in spreadsheets and document preparation.
- Experience with Ableton and/or other DAWs.
- Understands and can communicate basic music theory.
- Must understand how to connect with individuals and develop relationships.
- Must be able to meet deadlines when given.

Physical Demands
- Medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds.
