We are seeking a full-time RN for our Surgery Center in Fort Myers, FL. The RN is cross trained to be competent in all areas of the center, including pre-op, post-op, and circulator. *Overtime may be required.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Conforms to and abides by all regulatory, federal, state, and local laws governing the Surgicare Center.
- Complies with all company/Surgicare policies and procedures.
- Participates, attends and contributes to staff meetings and in-service trainings.
- Assists in the ongoing process of healthcare delivery to patients incorporating knowledge of age related and developmental stages.
- Can effectively operate machinery and equipment as needed/required.
- Prepares all necessary medications, equipment, charts, instruments, etc. in preparation for surgery. Provides clear, effective, and understandable information to patients and/or patients’ family member(s) for care instructions, pre and post operatively.
- Properly documents and ensures completeness of all patient charts in a timely manner.
- Adheres to standard precautions, infection control policies and utilizes required PPE, complies with incident reporting, responds to emergency drills, notifies management of unsafe conditions, attends annual Risk Management, OSHA and Biohazard trainings.
- Is a contributing team member and displays a positive attitude towards coworkers and patients at all times.
- Adheres to the time and attendance policy.
- Communicates appropriate information to the anesthetist and supervising RN

Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current, unencumbered FL state or Compact License to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Current BLS/ACLS certification.
- A minimum of two (2) years of medical/surgical experience is preferred.
- Previous ASC experience in ophthalmology is a plus.
- Must enjoy a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
- Must be bilingual - English/Spanish
- IV experience
