MRI Specialist + Rotational Radiographer

As a specialist MRI & Rotational Radiographer at St Barts, Nuffield Hospital, the opportunities to develop yourself, and the services we provide are abundant. Previous experience in Cardiac MRI is highly desirable as well as experience with Siemens equipment. In addition to being highly skilled in MRI, you will also be experienced in another modality such as CT, Cath Lab and/or Mammography.
As a Specialist MRI + Rotational Radiographer, you will:
- Have a BSC degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent).
- A postgraduate qualification and/or high levels of technical knowledge (desirable).
- Have more than 3 years’ experience in MRI.
- Be experienced in a wide variety of MRI scans including cardiac.
- Have an understanding and empathetic approach to patients and staff alike.
- Be respectful towards all individuals, including staff, patients and visitors.
- Have a proactive and forward-thinking approach to work.
- Ensure a service of the highest quality is delivered with sensitivity and compassion.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and team working abilities.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Deliver a high-quality diagnostic imaging service for a varied caseload.
- Be highly proficient in the use of all equipment within scope of practice.
- Work with leading practitioners and cutting-edge practices, equipment and facilities.
- Take an active part to supervise and develop junior colleagues.
- Responsible for MRI safety in line with local rules.
- Work within IRMER and own scope of practice, in accordance with the code of conduct set out by the HCPC.
- Participate in departmental audits and Quality Assurance programme.
- Provide support to the Clinical Lead Radiographers.
- Ensure equipment is safe and fit for purpose and can report faults in line with Nuffield Health policy.
- Competency in IV cannulation is essential.
- Provide input to the review, update and implementation of departmental policy and procedural changes.
- Comply with all Nuffield Health policies and procedures.
- Ensure all records are maintained in line with statutory and organisational requirements.
- Participation in General X-ray.
- Participate in on-call rota (must be able to attend site within one hour of call activation).
