Tri-State Surgery Center is seeking a full time Surgical Tech to join our fast-paced team! Our ideal candidate is energetic, self-motivated with excellent communication skills.

Tri-State Surgery Center, jointly owned and operated by Medical Associates Clinic and MercyOne Medical Center, is the region's first freestanding facility devoted exclusively to outpatient surgery. The Center consists of three operating rooms and two special procedure rooms and provides a variety of outpatient procedures for patients of all ages. Areas of specialties include ophthalmology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, gynecology, podiatry, plastic surgery, otolaryngology, and general surgeries not requiring overnight stays. An estimated 6,000 procedures can be performed annually at the Tri-State Surgery Center.
Schedule:
Monday – Friday daytime hours, 72 hours per 2 week pay period. No weekends, call, or holidays!

Essential Responsibilities:
- Performs surgical team functions under the direction of the circulating nurse, including assisting with surgery.
- Prepares and maintains supplies, instruments, equipment and rooms for the surgical procedures.
- Maintaining accurate surgeon preference cards, handles specimens appropriately, safely transfer of contaminated instruments and sharps.
- Maintain sterile items (includes sterilization and proper handling) for a sterile field.
- Assist with receiving, distributing and stocking of supplies, rotating supplies and removing outdated supplies.
- Complete all other assigned projects and duties.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience: Three months to one year of similar or related experience.
Education: Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion.
Other Skills: Ability to multi-task, work in a fast paced environment and work independently with limited direction, strong time management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Use and operate a variety of medical equipment and instruments. Use personal protection equipment including gloves, gowns, goggles and facemasks/shields. Comprehension of medical terminology.
