Job Summary
THE SPECIALTY CARE SERVICES STAFF NURSE is a professional nurse who assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for patients/families in his/her area.
Education
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Associate degree or diploma with at least one year of recent nursing experience required, preferably in pediatrics and in an outpatient setting. OR BSN or MSN with a minimum of 6 months experience preferred, preferably in pediatrics and in an outpatient setting.
Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
Current RN License in the State of Alabama. Current BLS Certification.
Additional Information
Includes the services of nine (9) Board Certified Neurologists, six (6) Board Certified Epileptologists, and three (3) Board Certified Nurse Practitioners. Services cover a variety of neurological diseases and conditions including but not limited to seizures, headache, movement disorders, neurogenetic disorders, neuromuscular diseases, and demyelinating diseases. Academic fellows, residents, and certified registered nurse practitioners also provide care in this area under the supervision of the attending MD. Basic referral information is required for new/consult patients, and information may be requested prior to arrival for appointments related to symptoms, prior history, tests, and procedures performed.
