Job Summary:
The Advanced Practice Professional will plan, organize, and direct the care of patients seen at UTHSCT in collaboration with and under the supervision of the attending physician. This position may act autonomously as determined by practice protocols established within the department between the supervising physician(s). Duties will be assigned by supervising physician and/or administrative officer. Must be willing to travel to various clinics in the Smith County area on short notice.
Major Responsibilities / Duties / Critical Tasks:
- Program development and coordination, clinical practice, and research.
- Provides patient care to assigned patients which may include assessment, development, and implementation of a treatment plan; patient/family education.
- Serves as a team member in providing continuity of healthcare.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Accompanying Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
- CPR Certification is required.
Minimum Required Education / Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant’s program or a Master’s Degree in advanced nurse practice is required.
- Minimum two years' experience as a midlevel practitioner in an ambulatory or urgent care/ER setting.
