Job Summary
We are seeking candidates for a Part-time Nurse Practitioner position for clinical services performed under contract with the State Employee Insurance Board at the State Wellness Center in downtown Montgomery, AL, down the street from the Capitol. The center serves as a convenient and free source of urgent/acute care for state employee insurance members and their covered dependents, age 12 and older. Essential Functions
- Performs physical examinations and preventative health measures, as well as orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests.
- Formulates comprehensive health management plans for patients in collaboration with physicians, pharmacists, and other medical professionals.
- Prescribes and/or recommends medications and treatments to patients.
- Provides physician and pharmacist referrals to patients in need of further medical care and services.
- Participates in Pharmacy Health Services and Harrison School of Pharmacy meetings, functions, events, and committees, as well as in a team of interdisciplinary health care providers.
- Provides education and instruction to residents and students on primary care practices and topics in advanced clinical courses.
- Contributes to the development, implementation, and expansion of Pharmacy Health Services programs and initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of Nurse Practitioner certificate program and qualified to practice as a Nurse Practitioner as defined under Section 610-X-5 of the Alabama Board of Nursing Administrative Code is required.
AU student employees are not eligible for TES.
Salary and Work Hours
Salary Range: $40.00 - $50.00/hour
Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (schedule varies)
