Overview
This trained position performs all diagnostic CT procedures with the knowledge of all pertinent and academic areas to produce consistent, high-quality exams. The CT Lead works effectively with patients and physicians and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel. Recognizes the purpose of employment is to prioritize the patient as number one and to put forth the utmost quality as a technologist. This position holds the responsibilities of department lead.
What You Will Do
- Assists radiologists in performing CT imaging procedures. Select proper protocol to obtain optimal images and provides clinical documentation per scope of practice.
- Performs with a high degree of safety and quality and prevents or reduces harms through knowledge and application of policies, procedures, protocols using safety behaviors. Responsible for the preparation of equipment, instrumentation, and departmental supplies required to support quality patient care. Follows ALARA principles according to policy.
- Understands and adheres to all applicable regulatory and accrediting standards. Reports variances.
- Serves as the lead technologist within the department by precepting and mentoring new team members, assessing and tracking competencies, and assisting with the coordination of patient care.
- Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Troubleshoots and ensures equipment functionality. Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of equipment, instrumentation, and departmental supplies required to support quality patient care.
- Responsible for the daily schedule. Handles the workflow and coordinates the assignments to meet patient care needs. Arranges coverage so the highest priorities are covered.
- Demonstrates professional behavior/conduct in all interactions, fosters teamwork, efficient use of resources, and ensures positive customer experience.
Qualifications
Experience
- 3-4 years recent relevant experience (Required)
Licenses and Certifications
- Radiologic Technologists - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Computed Tomography (CT) Upon Hire (Required)
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire (Required)
