JOB TITLE: Multi-Dimensional Family Recovery Specialist (MDFR Specialist)
ABOUT THE PROGRAM: The Safe Family Recovery Program encompasses 3 separate programs of which this position will implement the MDFR (Multidimensional Family Recovery) model approach and employees in this role will become certified in the model as they get cases and receive training and consultation by the model developer.
MDFR is an evidence-based program that addresses the complex, multi-generational challenges facing families affected by parental substance use and involvement in the child welfare system. MDFR works to address change in the following 6 domains:
- Child Functioning & Safety
- Parent/Individual functioning
- Family relationships
- Intimate Partner relationships
- Parenting/Co-parenting
- Basic needs/ community resources
ABOUT THE POSITION
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for delivering MDFR services in homes and community to support treatment and facilitate recovery by improving family relationships and familial role functioning with the whole family.
- Address barriers to treatment and conduct brief therapeutic interventions to increase motivation to enter services.
- Provide interventions that increase parenting capacity, reduce child safety risks, and improve family functioning.
- Participate in DCF case consultation and service planning meetings.
- Collaborate with team members and DCF workers on cases.
- Collaborate with individuals to create individualized, person-centered plans and document client progress.
- Use EMR to document all services and contacts with clients, collateral contacts, and appointments.
- Attend all model required meetings and trainings along with coaching calls and agency trainings.
- Assist other team members as appropriate.
Position Highlights
- Travel required with mileage reimbursement, may cover towns outside Middlesex County for regional coverage only when needed.
- Use of personal vehicle which may require transporting clients at times.
- Might attend court, recovery support or 12-step meetings, and other appointments with clients in recovery needing support in the community.
- This is an In-Home position in the community requiring an independent and organized individual to schedule with families and be reliable, professional, trauma-informed, and safe.
- Having background knowledge or experience supporting caregivers in recovery from substances is a plus!
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in mental health related field
Experience: At least two (2) years’ experience in an adult substance use field. Excellent verbal communication skills, computer literacy.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid driver’s license.
Training: Will attend all required program trainings.

COMPENSATION: $17.7166/hour min to $26.5749/hour max
*Actual rates are determined at the time of offer and are based on relevant experience, as well as adherence to our internal equity policy. Many of our positions offer program/location differentials and/or sign-on incentives. (Please note, for part-time positions this range would be pro-rated based on hours worked)
