The Account Executive will drive new opportunities and nurture relationships with existing clients in their respective territory. In addition, they will be required to work with internal teams to meet client needs and ultimately navigate through the client’s buying processes to reach successful closure. This position will be responsible for playing a key role in expanding our growth opportunities within current Velsera accounts.
What will you do?
- Development of new opportunities within current accounts through proactive identification and qualification of new business within assigned territory.
- Ability to strategize when evaluating new business within a current client in order to effectively sell an enterprise-wide solution
- Coordinate with Regional Sales VP on new business opportunities related to new products or expansions and enlist support proactively when required.
- Coordinate with Territory Business Manager to create and deliver Quarterly Business Reviews
- Forecast expansion revenue and monitor monthly client billings and volumes
- Develop and implement account strategies and sales plans to achieve and or exceed quota targets.
- Anticipate and mitigate client challenges through proactive engagement methodologies.
- Cross functional collaboration within Velsera and client teams to develop and scope solutions.
- Manage up to date activity, planning, and forecasting of all qualified expansion opportunities throughout the sales process to closure status.
- Build and/or maintain a current and appropriate high-level understanding of genomics, bioinformatics analysis, and client related critical business issues in order to have independent, productive conversations with key persona.
- Active participation at industry meetings and conferences as required to represent Velsera
- Develop and deliver presentations, proposals, and RFP responses to meet expressed and anticipated customer needs.
- Closely manage software trials and pilots to ensure a successful outcome.
- Follow industry trends and competitor strategy to distinguish and leverage key differentiators.
- Travel may be required.
What do you bring to the table?
- 5+ years of direct account management experience in a molecular diagnostic setting
- Experience working with major cancer centers and clinics, commercial labs, and large health systems
- Strong understanding of molecular diagnostics for oncology, PCR, and NGS
- Ability to sell at all levels within an organization inclusive of the executive level (CEO, COO, CFO)
- Ability to maintain an outstanding level of market, customer, distribution, and product knowledge necessary to accomplish sales and marketing objectives
- Advanced strategic sales account planning skills
- Ability to work independently, communicate proactively, manage multiple projects, and prioritize daily tasks while managing critical deadlines
- Ability to develop and utilize cross-functional relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals and objectives
- Good negotiation and customer service skills
- Excellent listening, problem-solving, and decision making skills, and the aptitude to learn about technical/scientific concepts
