Job Summary: Independently, or under the direct supervision of a physician, performs radiology/CT procedures consistent with the established standard of medical care in radiology, following policies and protocols using established anatomical positioning and physiology to produce optimum images, while keeping patient welfare, confidentiality and comfort a top priority.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor of Science degree is preferred, but not required.
- Graduation from an approved school of Radiologic Technology, either college affiliated or hospital trained.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists within 1 year of hire.
- Certified by the State of Arkansas to practice and administer radiation.
- Registered in CT within 1 year of hire unless unable to meet exam requirement, then must meet with manager to make arrangements to fulfill exam requirements.
- Current BLS certification upon hire or BLS certification must be obtained during orientation period or at next available scheduled class. Throughout employment, current BLS certification must be maintained by renewal during renewal period or at next available scheduled class.
- One year of experience under a Board Certified Radiologist preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty (ies) as appropriate.
