Purpose:
A Behavioral Health Intern completes intake assessments, service planning, crisis intervention and provides ongoing individual/family/couple/group therapy as needed. The Behavioral Health Intern is part of the Behavioral Health Team and reports to their assigned Clinical Director.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat mental and behavioral health disorders.
- Conduct regular appointments and establish trusting and positive therapeutic relationships.
- Propose targeted treatment strategies designed to address everyone’s unique needs; Assist with case management services.
- Actively participate in individual and group supervision sessions
- Maintain documentation and applicable records to comply with licensing requirements.
- Verify patient information and perform routine data entry into various software systems within departmental deadlines.
- Continually assess the needs and situations, providing adjustments in therapeutic interventions and strategies as necessary
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Second-year or Advanced Standing master’s student of social work or a masters of counseling at an approved University (required)
- Valid Arizona fingerprint clearance card and TB Screener
- FA/CPR certification– may be optional for virtual
- Ability to document client records and notes within applicable deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, demonstrating professional communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to maintain valid and current certifications and other applicable compliance criteria.
