Responsibilities:
• Comply with nursing policies and procedures to ensure nursing standards are met. Promotes optimal client health.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician’s orders and in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
• Must be able to administer medications via all routes, including controlled substances.
• Assist clients with all health and medical devices, including eyeglasses, hearing devices, tracheotomies, G/J tubes, colostomies, urostomies, apnea monitors, CPAP machines, ventilators, oxygen, nebulizer machines, etc.
• Monitor persons served for seizures, medication side effects, signs, and symptoms of illness, and provide necessary nursing interventions.
• Inform RN or Director of Nursing (DON) and/or physician of health status changes, accidents, and injuries of persons served.
• Complete all required documentation including nurses notes, tracking forms, incident reports, and monthly/quarterly reports.
• Assist with providing nursing services in group homes, including completing documentation as required by APD (65G-7) guidelines.
• Assist with quality assurance reviews and file documents in charts when requested.
• Assist with Respiratory Therapy and IV Therapy as needed.
• Attend and participate in meetings and trainings as requested.
• Ensure client’s mealtime procedures and therapeutic positioning procedures, including client transfers, are followed.
• Ensure Infection Control Policies and Procedures are followed.
• Ensure all equipment, including respiratory carts and treatment carts, are clean and sanitary.
• Ensure a clean and safe environment to avoid accidents or injury to clients or staff.
• Complete required documentation in case of employee injury, administer First Aid if necessary, and follow worker’s compensation protocols.
• Assist with facility emergency procedures as needed, such as emergency evacuations.
• Follow notification protocol for accidents, injuries, emergencies, and other events within appropriate timelines.
• Report to work for scheduled shifts, including other shifts, holidays, and weekends as needed.
• Participate in outings and appointments, including monitoring clients during transport and assisting clients during outings.
• Complete housekeeping duties to ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment.
• Ensure compliance with Quest’s policies and procedures.
• Assist with training new employees as needed.
• Complete all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Graduation from an accredited school for Licensed Practical Nurses required.
• Current unrestricted state of Florida Licensed Practical Nurse license required.
• Florida Driver’s License with no more than two moving violations in the past three years.
• Able to work in the US and not require Visa Sponsorship from our company now or in the future.
• Effectively communicate at all levels, write, and speak English using acceptable grammar, punctuation, and spelling, understand and follow multi-step written and verbal instructions.
• Use functional math, analyze, and assess data, and determine appropriate actions.
• Organize and prioritize workflow to meet deadlines.
• Work independently without constant supervision and complete work tasks to completion.
• Gather and analyze information in crisis situations, and make immediate decisions.
• Problem-solve and use good judgment when making decisions.
• Conduct self in a professional and courteous manner.
• Keep information confidential and refrain from gossip, set appropriate professional boundaries with all staff.
• Proficiently use a computer and electronic medical records.
