The Opportunity
As the Director, Organization Effectiveness Consultant, you are responsible for supporting Black & Veatch’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives. The director develops and executes strategic initiatives in support of the company, leveraging OE disciplines to meet Black & Veatch’s business objectives and priorities. You will have the opportunity to:
- Serve as a senior OE consultant and business advisor to Presidents and senior leaders to enable achievement of goals
- Serve as owner of multiple OE practice areas (model, tools, adoption, training, etc)
- Coach OE team to strengthen OE skills and capabilities
The Team
As part of BV Business Enablement, you will be part of a critical and forward-thinking group that works with leaders and HR partners to develop a path for evolving and optimizing organization through growth and change.
Key Responsibilities
- Works with HR Partners and/or business leadership to assess, scope, develop, and deploy critical OE solutions for the enterprise, including:
- Advise on and facilitate large scale, complex change management initiatives
- Consult on and provide leader and team effectiveness solutions
- Consult on and facilitate organization design and alignment engagements
- Implements large OE programs targeted at building enterprise change capability, readiness, team alignment and/or organization design
- Applies theoretical knowledge and practical experience related to OE/OD methodologies, processes and tools; infuses new knowledge, theories and practices within the OE tools, team, and with HR partners.
- Serves as OE practice lead for one or more OE practice area such as change management, organization design, consulting and contracting, etc.
- Regularly communicate (share/discuss) organizational learnings/information to deepen cross team knowledge, awareness, understanding.
- Ensures OE capability development with HR partners and critical leadership roles (in alignment with B&V’s leadership framework)
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of overall experience. 7+ years of experience with multiple OE and OD areas (e.g., change management, org design etc.) and preferably some experience in a non-HR or OE role. Internal or external OE consulting experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge and experienced practice with OE/OD models, theory, and practices.
- Ability to translate OE/OD models into practical, business-related consulting and programs.
- All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: Criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of OE methodologies, processes and tools, models and theories
- Ability to manage projects and project teams utilizing a project plan
- Experience in continuous improvement and/or process improvement
- Lean or six sigma certification a plus
- Basic leadership coaching experience
- Ability to facilitate large groups through problem resolutions
- Critical thinker who utilizes curiosity in problem discovery and solutions
- Ability to synthesize multiple data and behavioral components
- Multi-tasking ability to manage several reasonably complex deliverables across more than one client group consecutively and manage others.
- Basic knowledge of critical human infrastructure industries
- Excellent verbal and written skills
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- Typical office environment with hybrid work schedule: 3 days in office and 2 days remote
- Some travel may be required (0-10%)
