Job Summary:
Provide high quality veterinary care for patients and clients within the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital as part of the Medical Oncology team. Responsible for overseeing the training of veterinary students, interns, and residents. This position ends 1 year from date of hire with the possibility of extension.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree from outside the USA
- Must possess a California veterinary or university license within 3 months of date of hire.
- Advanced knowledge in the area of Medical Oncology as demonstrated by completion of a residency training program in medical oncology and/or board certification in veterinary oncology.
- Thorough knowledge of veterinary medicine as it applies to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
- Skills to provide oversight of professional DVM students, residents, and animal health technicians in all aspects within the area of Medical Oncology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge in medical oncology as demonstrated through board certification in medical oncology (ACVIM or ECVIM).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work collegially with other disciplines for the benefit of the patient.

- 20% - TEACHING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Physical Demands:
- Maneuver/lift equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Handle animals weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Contact with animals, including restraint of animals (sometimes fractious) as required.
- May be required to wear protective clothing for extended periods of time including: gown, coveralls, gloves, masks, face shields, goggles, sleeves, and head covers.
