Summit is the busiest level 3 trauma hospital in Tennessee. In this position, you will be working in a 33 bed acute care department that primarily cares for pre and post-surgical patients. We also have wound care and physical therapy departments located here. We care for general, GI, Urology, Orthopedic, Spine, podiatry, and plastics.
This position will provide a great pathway for nurses that are interested in growing into an OR/PACU position, float pool, inpatient rehab, PCU, ICU, ER, or even educator roles or leadership positions.
***$15k Sign on bonus for qualified candidates - paid out in 20% payments every 6 months, over the course of 2 years (initial paycheck, 6 months, 12 months, 18 months, 24 months) - 6 month commitment or you have to pay the initial payment back, no payback commitment after that point***

Job Summary and Qualifications
The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.
Medical Surgical Nurse
Registered nurses provide and coordinate care for patients. The Registered nurse is responsible for collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to provide physical and psychological support to patients and their families. Daily responsibilities of the Registered nurse include but are not limited to: assessments and reassessments, developing individualized plans of care, medication administration, documentation, education, proper maintenance of equipment, and communication of patient needs.
- You will demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served as per Scope of Service.
- You will promote customer service initiatives.
- You will utilize nursing process for individual care to meet needs of patients.
- You will demonstrate ability to perform technical skills and procedures.
- You will document all patient care.
What qualifications you will need:
- RN licensure by Tennessee Board of Nursing or a Board of Nursing from a compact state.
- Associate's degree; Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- BLS required, and must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
- Must obtain ACLS within 6 Months of hire or transfer.
- At least one-year clinical nursing preferred.
