Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Surgical Technologist-KP4 Pediatric OR-Evening Shift (37.5 Hours). In this role, the successful candidate, under the direction of a licensed professional nurse, can scrub on all surgical procedures in the Operating Room and assist the physician in procedural areas.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collect patient healthcare data systematically and on an ongoing basis using appropriate assessment techniques and instruments.
- Participate in quality improvement programs and activities that promote patient, family, physician, and staff satisfaction.
- Engage in clinical activities to foster evidence-based practice.
- Maintain awareness of current research applicable to patient care.
- Participate in unit-based quality and performance improvement programs.
- Utilize resources to meet individual learning needs.
- Serve as a support and resource for other staff and students.
- Engage in self-assessment and participate in activities to promote own professional growth and development.
- Acquire and maintain current knowledge and competence to fulfill responsibilities.
- Participate in designated activities related to professional nursing standards and regulations of relevant outside agencies.
- Collaborate with members of the interdisciplinary team and promote collegial relationships.
- Participate in coordination of unit activities to provide care in a healing, humane, and caring environment.
- Support the mission, philosophy, standards, goals, and objectives of the institution, department, and service line.
- Recognize that all patients may not share the values and practices of the US health system.
- Consider needs and behaviors of specific patient age and cultural groups in all patient care activities.
- Evaluate the patient’s progress toward attainment of expected outcomes.
- Implement interventions identified in the plan of care.
- Provide RN Circulator/Surgical Team updates of information that reflects the ability to prioritize and organize care.
- Support the Surgical Team in the achievement of expected outcomes individualized to the patient.
- Communicate assessment data to nursing/surgical team.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent required, BLS Required, American Heart Association, 1-3 years of operating room experience preferred. Must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program through NBSTSA. Certification exam must be taken and passed within 12 months of completion of surgical technologist program.
Required Licenses: Cert Surgical Technologist, Basic Life Support Cert
Preferred Qualifications:
One year experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist in a large complex Operating Room preferred.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $82,796.59 - $108,883.19 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
