We are seeking a Medical Assistant to provide essential administrative and clinical support to our physician and patients. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with a strong commitment to patient care.

Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
- Prepare patients for examination including taking vital signs, obtaining complete medical histories, and documenting accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Pre-visit planning such as obtaining vital past records including imaging CDs, reports, and labs so they are scanned and available during patient visit.
- Draw medications, prepare and assist with ultrasound-guided procedures and examinations.
- Draw blood.
- Educate patients on post-appointment care and follow-up appointments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Clinical Support:
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment.
- Manage medical supplies, inventory, stocking rooms.
- Complete paperwork and other duties as assigned.
Administrative Duties:
- Schedule patient appointments and manage medical records and patient messages.
- Answer phones, greet patients, and provide excellent customer service.
- Handle insurance authorizations and follow through.
- Assist with data entry, scanning, and other administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- At least 2-3 years of verifiable practical Medical Assistant experience in a clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
- In-depth understanding of referral authorizations process and requirements.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Comfortable with venipuncture (phlebotomy/blood draw).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Accredited Medical Assistant certification.
- Experience in pulmonary medicine.
- Bilingual (Spanish).
- Strong proficiency in EPIC electronic health record (EHR) system.

Compensation will be based on experience
Starting at $21.00/hr
