V2X is seeking a Lab Manager to manage and implement engineering lab strategic projects and day-to-day administrative functions within closed area engineering labs, with specific focus on safety, security, and compliance using established doctrine and governance. You will be creative and innovative, possessing strong organizational, coordination, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills. In the position, you must be able to collaborate with customers, employees, and senior leaders when implementing process and procedural changes.
This position is an on-site role in Indianapolis, Indiana. Travel as needed to support mission and program execution but will be minimal.
Responsibilities
Major Job Activities:
This position supports a DoD program. This person will join a team that is supporting an active design, integration, and test program at the V2X facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. As part of the team, responsibilities may include supporting activities to maintain the posture of compliance requirements regarding safety, security, process, and procedures. Responsibilities may include coordinating activities between V2X and visitors to the site.
The successful candidate should also be able to utilize various engineering and scientific drawings, manuals, and other related documentation in the performance of these tasks. Secondary responsibilities would include technical tasks in support of prototyping and fabricating engineering test assets and lab upgrades. May assist in directing work, assigning and outlining tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple engineering lab and storage areas (including classified spaces).
- Lab Operating Procedure (LOP) Management; provide direction for lab users on established policies.
- Maintain the calibration schedules and records of test assets.
- Oversee audit/assessment preparation including audit preparation, leading/conducting self/internal audits, and developing corrective action plans.
- Perform Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) on systems returned from the field along with tests on “golden units” to confirm test equipment readiness.
- Assist in all general documentation, engineering data collection, and compiling technical reports.
- Perform various routine laboratory functions to assist the lab professional staff.
- Prepare monthly reports and presentation materials.
- Work autonomously with limited oversight; provide professional input, guidance, and problem solving.
- Assist to update and maintain work instructions and Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs).
- Demonstrate personal commitment to EH&S by meeting all EH&S legislation and regulations and driving EH&S compliance and surfacing / correcting every unsafe situation.
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Experience in an engineering lab environment area such as: safety, security, compliance, and/or property management.
- Detail oriented, well organized with good prioritization skills.
- Good critical thinking skills and ability to understand engineering/technical schematics and reports.
- Time management skills resulting from broad administrative management responsibilities.
- Safeguard classified / proprietary material, hardware, and documentation, utilizing defense material/property under Export Administration Regulations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- This position requires some physical exertion, such as, long period of standing, walking, and/or moving light equipment (<20 lbs).
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education / Certifications:
- A minimum of an Associates of Science degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent experience is required.
Clearance Requirement:
- U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position requires the ability to obtain DoD Secret U.S. Security Clearance and will require the ability to access to US only data systems.
- An active DoD Secret level Security Clearance is preferred.
Required Experience / Skills:
- Minimum 2 years of DoD closed-area operations experience.
- Familiarity with NISPOM regulations, Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word / Excel / PowerPoint).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desired Experience / Skills:
- Experience using test equipment such as multimeter, oscilloscope, power supplies, etc.
- Previous experience managing a lab and assets with inventory controls.
- Windows PC management and networking skills.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical / electronic skills.
