Job Description
The clinic nurse is responsible for coordinating the inter-disciplinary team of nursing and non-nursing resources to best serve the oncology patient. The process of assessment, education and continuity of care is focused on the oncology patients seen on the Medical, Surgical and Multimodality Clinic at the James. Provides skilled nursing care in a multi-disciplinary oncology setting which demonstrates sound professional judgment, clinical competence, appropriate job knowledge, teaching skills and a working sense of resource management; all of these activities occur in a Customer First Service environment. Participates in unit performance improvement initiatives; supervises, evaluates, and directly observes implementation of nursing care by support personnel in the clinical setting; performs miscellaneous duties to support the mission of the James.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in nursing.
Required Qualifications
Graduate from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or ACEN (Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing) accredited nursing program required; current licensure or interim permit in the practice of registered nursing from the State of Ohio Board of Nursing required; previous experience in a relevant care setting preferred.
