Job Overview
The Clinical Pharmacist Specialist General Medicine ensures safe, appropriate, and economical use of drugs through the application of specialized skills and knowledge in pediatric patient care. This position will provide clinical pharmacy services to support our growing medical and surgical areas. This pharmacist will join our two (2) other General Medicine Clinical Pharmacists to broaden the services currently being provided and lead the development of the pharmacist role in service expansion.
The Department of Pharmacy provides comprehensive clinical services to patients at Children's Hospital Colorado. Our clinical pediatric pharmacists are available 24 hours a day and help ensure the safe and effective use of medication in children, as well as promote health, wellness, and disease prevention. Clinical pharmacy services are integrated into virtually all inpatient care units.

Hours per week: 40, eligible for benefits
Shift: Day, Monday - Friday. Every 3rd weekend rotating and selected holidays.
Qualifications
Education: Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree
Experience: Two (2) years of residency experience or one (1) year of residency plus three (3) years of work experience.
Equivalency: Three (3) years of pharmacy work experience in area of specialty accepted in lieu of 2nd year of residency.
Certification(s): BLS certification (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute accepted).
Licensure(s): State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Pharmacy license

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Designs and leads pharmaceutical outcomes research.
- Participates in the education of pharmacy staff, nursing staff, medical staff, pharmacy residents and students, other healthcare allied professionals and patients and families.
- Provides drug information services by responding to questions regarding medication compatibilities, adverse drug events, regimens, dosing, interactions, storage and disposal.
- Sustains and implements quality and safety initiatives and practices in the department and throughout the hospital.
- Participates in general pharmacy operations throughout the organization.

Salary Information
Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $130,499.55 to $195,749.32
Hourly Salary Range: $62.74 to $94.11
