Position Summary
The Nestlé Product Technology Centre Coffee (NPTC Coffee) is the leading R&D organization that discovers, develops and deploys coffee and beverage products and technologies for in-home and out-of-home consumption. It consists of units in Konolfingen (CH), Marysville (USA), Orbe (CH) and Singapore and provides new products and processes to all Nestlé markets worldwide.

The nutrition & health team at the NPTC Coffee translates Nestlé Corporate nutrition strategy (Good For You) into concrete recommendations for our coffee brands (such as NESCAFÉ, NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto, Starbucks) and provides nutritional guidance to the reformulation or development of new coffee beverages.
As a R&D Nutritionist, you will be responsible for guiding the application of nutrition science and knowledge in product innovation and reformulation efforts for your respective product categories. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products align with the latest nutritional guidelines and meet the evolving needs and preferences of our consumers.

A Day in the Life of a R&D Nutritionist
- Develop scientific rationales to evolve internal nutritional and ingredient guidelines for coffee beverage recipe formulation.
- Act as nutrition subject matter expert in innovation and renovation projects, assessing recipes against internal and external requirements, and guiding product nutrition and health messaging and claims.
- Identify nutrition gaps and opportunities for portfolio growth, staying updated with nutrition science and consumer trends.
- Develop educational materials and events for internal staff.
- Lead knowledge transfer and provide technical assistance to Application Groups and market nutritionists.
What will make you successful
- University degree in nutrition and knowledge of food science.
- Professional experience as an applied nutritionist in the food industry, public health nutrition organization or relevant field.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to demonstrate technical knowledge and apply it to commercial environments.
- Agile and able to work in fast-changing environments and matrix organizations.
- Self-motivated with a high level of drive and energy, capable of working both independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Fluent in English spoken and written; French is a plus.
