Part-time positions available in Chicago Western Suburb (Lombard, IL)
The mental health psychotherapist shall work in the capacity of a therapist and educator offering preventative and clinical intervention services to a predominantly Muslim population, designed to alleviate psychological distress and produce resiliency.
Duties and Responsibilities
The following are the primary duties and responsibilities for this position. These are not exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties and responsibilities may be required and assigned:
- Provide individual, family, couples, and/or group psychotherapy a minimum of 12 hours a week to a predominantly Muslim population.
- Participate in speaking engagements, offer trainings, seminars, or workshops at a minimum of once per month from content produced by Khalil Center.
- Offer school counseling and psycho-educational services to schools wherein Khalil Center engages in a contract with such educational institutions at a minimum of 4 hours a week and a maximum of 20 hours or as desired by the therapist.
- Attend brief monthly check-ins with supervisor/superordinate (example clinical director/operations manager) describing the extent of their work, current caseload with any suggestions for the improvement of services both organizationally and as individual service providers.
- Be present at intake/supervision meetings that will take place once a week.
- Complete all administrative forms and tasks related to the role of being a mental health therapist.
- Have interest and knowledge of the organizational activities of Khalil Center, due to possible organizational situations that may cause a shift in routine business.
- Adhere to the Islamic religious rules and laws that pertain to his/her profession as a Muslim professional, conducting him/herself in a manner that is congruent with Islamic character etiquettes and expectations.
- Adhere to all institutional policies regarding client-related work.
Qualifications and Skills
- Masters or Doctoral degree in clinical psychology, clinical social work, community counseling, counseling psychology or any related mental health field.
- Be licensed or be eligible for licensure.
- Be a member of a professional mental health organization, adhering to the ethics code of that organization (ex. APA, ACA, ICA etc.) and have knowledge of the laws that govern his/her profession as a mental health provider.
- Familiarity with Islamic theology, customs, rituals, and rules.
- Have malpractice insurance independently and/or through Khalil Center.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Working Conditions
Professional office setting, relaxed business/Islamic attire.
Remotely or in-office if located near a Khalil Center physical location (limited remote hours possible).
Routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.
Compensation
Hourly rate TBD based upon degree, licensure, and experience.
