Overview of the Role:
As the Nurse Manager of Cardiac Stepdown, you will oversee the 24/7 operations and accountability of the Cardiac Stepdown unit located in Plano, TX. This role requires a detail-oriented leader dedicated to ensuring high-quality, goal-directed nursing care. Core responsibilities include staff management, budget oversight, patient care delivery, and the implementation of evidence-based practices. You will collaborate closely with the Director of PCU and other leadership teams to optimize patient safety, satisfaction, and overall unit performance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and Supervise:Provide dynamic leadership and supervision for staff while managing the day-to-day operations of the Cardiac Stepdown unit.
- Develop Care Plans:Implement nursing care plans based on the Synergy Model and Evidence-Based Practices.
- Foster Improvement:Encourage continuous improvement in patient care processes, staff satisfaction, and clinical outcomes.
- Manage Budgets:Oversee and manage operating expenses to stay within target levels.
- Promote Development:Champion staff development, community involvement, and foster ongoing learning and professional growth.
- Ensure Compliance:Ensure adherence to Infection Prevention protocols, Joint Commission Patient Safety Goals, and reporting systems.
Requirements:
- Experience:Minimum of 2+ years of recent acute care critical care leadership experience.
- Education:BSN required; MSN or Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Texas State RN license or compact license.
- National Specialty Certification or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
