Job Summary: The University of Utah College of Nursing (CON) is a community of scholars engaged in exemplary programs of funded research and distinguished scholarship. This position will work collaboratively to support the data management needs associated with research being conducted by CON faculty and their collaborators. The successful candidate will be able to work independently under minimal supervision but also as part of a team and manage timelines and day-to-day processes for the successful completion of their responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews and analyzes data according to departmental or experimental protocols.
- Designs and compiles special reports in response to internal and external requests.
- Acquires and stores accurate data in a computer database for subsequent retrieval.
- Plans, compiles, analyzes, and produces data reports.
- Participates in the planning and design of data reporting forms and formats.
- May be responsible for computer data entry of target data.
- Reviews data for discrepancies, interacts with investigators, and creates analysis datasets.
- Acts as a liaison to University data warehouses for the request and retrieval of study-related datasets.
- Works collaboratively with investigators and other statisticians in supporting project needs.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in the life sciences, pharmacy, nursing, or a related subject, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Requires two or more years of relevant clinical data management experience. Understanding of basic regulations involving clinical trials, clinical data management, and clinical data systems. Ability to perform all data management activities associated with a clinical trial with a high degree of quality. This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
Preferences: Experience with R, Python, SQL, SPSS, SAS.
