Hourly Full Time

Typical working hours: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm. Will be expected to work outside of these hours occasionally.
Summary of Position for Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): This position is responsible for responding to the general health needs and wellness of persons served. To assure responsive and quality care, the LPN or RN will provide support to staff in the implementation of physician's orders and provision of appropriate health care. The LPN or RN may delegate specific nursing tasks (as defined in the Nurse Practice Act) to non-medical staff from completion of training and demonstration of competency. All duties listed below are essential functions of the position.
General Responsibilities of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):
- Respond to the general health needs and wellness of persons served.
- Provide monitoring and care related to general health/wellness, as well as, specific health needs (B/P, weights, AIMS, etc.).
- Provide input to service coordinator, parent/guardian, and employees in program/service planning regarding health/wellness.
- Administer medications as ordered.
- Make referrals for health care, as appropriate.
- Participate in daily Health Services team meetings.
- Provide training to persons served regarding health/wellness.
- Respond to emergencies and accidents, assess, and give medical care, and provide follow-up, as needed.
- Communicate with physician or health care provider, take phone orders, and assure implementation of orders.
- Provide input and support to psychiatrist on contract to the organization.
- Make recommendations for the development of revision of health care policies and procedures to promote quality care.
- Maintain appropriate equipment and supplies needed to provide basic health care.
- Follow proper hand washing practices, Universal Precautions and accepted medical practices/protocol to assure safe and sanitary health care.
- Covid-19 clinics and Covid-19 testing.
- Cost and Overtime Control and Management.
- Draw up syringes and bubble pack medication.
- Provide training and support to employees to provide appropriate health care as directed/delegated by the RN.
- Provide training to employees regarding: general health/wellness, implementation of specific health procedures or operation of specialized equipment.
- Provide support to employees in relation to health and wellness issues of persons served.
- Provide on-call (after hours) support to Community Living Trainers and Community Living Supervisors as scheduled.
- Provide for quality assurance checks of health procedures/documentation as directed.
- Delegate nursing tasks as appropriate (as defined in the Nurse Practice Act) to trained and competent non-medical staff.
