- Department Allergy Immunology and Rheumatology Clinic
- Schedule - Shift - Hours - Days Part-time (Benefit Eligible) - Day shift - 8am- 4:30pm - Thursday & Friday weekly and 1 day every other week
The clinician is a professional nurse who is an expert in the care of a specified patient population/subspecialty area. The clinician assumes a leadership role and supervisory responsibilities in the development, organization, and implementation of care services for the specified patient population.
Education
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Experience
At least four years of recent clinical nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics, preferably in outpatient setting
Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
Current RN License in the State of Alabama
Current BLS certificate required, BLS Instructor preferred
National Certification preferred
Additional Information
Includes services of four Board Certified Allergist/Immunologists and six Board Certified Rheumatologists. Academic Fellows, Residents and Certified Nurse Practitioners also provide care in these areas, under the supervision of the Attending MD. Services with Allergy/Immunology cover a variety of diseases and conditions including but not limited to: Allergic Rhino-Conjunctivitis (Hay Fever), Allergic and Non-allergic Asthma, Urticaria (Hives), Angioedema (swelling disorders), Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema), Allergies to foods/stinging insects/medications, hereditary immune deficiencies (Primary Immune Deficiencies). Services with Rheumatology cover a variety of diseases and conditions including but not limited to: autoimmune disorders, including juvenile arthritis, lupus, myositis, scleroderma and various vasculitides. A variety of treatment options are available such as Allergy Immunotherapy, Food and Medication Challenges, Biologic agents, intra-articular corticosteroid joint injections.
