Position Overview: SAMGI is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Trauma Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team at Piedmont Henry Hospital in Stockbridge, GA. The APP will work closely with our team of trauma surgeons, providing exceptional care to trauma patients. This is a full-time position offering a dynamic and collaborative work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced practice care to trauma patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
- Assist in surgical procedures, including preoperative and postoperative care.
- Perform clinical rounds, patient evaluations, and formulate treatment plans.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in trauma resuscitations and activations.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and labs.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and post-discharge care.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with hospital policies and regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.
Requirements
- Current licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the state of Georgia.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in trauma surgery or a related field.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong clinical skills and the ability to work independently.
