ABOUT US
Two Hands Four Paws is an award-winning, family-owned company working with special needs animals and their families since 1998! We're a great place to gain unique hands-on experience in the physical therapy side of veterinary medicine. Our state-of-the-art facility features a 15,000-gallon, 85-degree pool, multiple water and land treadmills, private treatment rooms, and a spacious gymnasium. From massage, acupuncture, hydrotherapy, and ultrasound to laser therapy, Chinese medicine, boarding, brace castings, cart and harness fittings, and beyond - we do it all. We also have a 501(c)(3) foundation that allows us to rescue and rehabilitate animals in need!
ABOUT YOU
Veterinary experience in a clinic or hospital setting would be strongly preferred but isn't required for the right person. Experience at a doggie daycare or boarding facility would be a bonus!
Here's what we need from our Animal Rehabilitation Assistant:
- Experience providing pet care such as feeding, bathing, toenail trimming, and medication administration
- Animal handling skills and basic restraint skills
- Exceptional patient care, customer service, and multitasking skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks from multiple sources
- Excellent English communication skills, great attitude, and a team spirit
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- Love for animals and passion for helping special needs patients
DAY IN THE LIFE
Shifts last 8 hours, with opening shifts starting at 6:00 am and closing shifts ending at 9:00 pm. Some weekends may be required.
As an Animal Rehabilitation Assistant, you're part of an awesome team dedicated to making animals happy and healthy! Every day is filled with special moments with our furry patients and their families. You learn about caring for special needs pets and dogs of all sizes - feeding them, bathing them, giving them meds, cleaning their wounds and ears, and keeping their nails well-trimmed. Attentively, you help keep our clinic squeaky clean by mopping, sweeping, washing laundry, restocking exam rooms, and cleaning water equipment. You take detailed patient notes, help your veterinary team with acupuncture and physical therapy, and even assist disabled patients to and from their cars as needed. It's a rewarding job where you can learn a lot, and we can't wait to have you on the team!
