Posting Summary
Rutgers The State University is seeking a Senior Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Cherry Hill Outpatient Services within Rutgers University Behavioral Healthcare. The LPN provides technical nursing care to child through adult populations, performs treatments and procedures within established guidelines, and provides a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides direct care to patients within scope of practice.
- Takes vital signs and documents immediately in the EMR.
- Administers medications and parenteral therapy in accordance with established UBHC guidelines.
- Performs venipuncture as required.
- Collects and processes laboratory specimens.
- Follows National Patient Safety Goals in proper identification of patient before collecting specimens.

Hours Per Week: 20
Daily Work Shift: Day
FLSA: Nonexempt
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience: Three (3) years of relevant experience as an LPN is required.
Certifications/Licenses: Possession of a valid and current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated competency in venipuncture techniques required.
- Demonstrated strong clinical nursing specialty, excellent communication skills, must be PC literate with proficiency in word processing and leadership abilities required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Physical Demands: Position requires standing 2/3 of the time, walking to 2/3 of the time, requires sitting 1/3 of the time, use of hands to finger, handle or feel 2/3 of the time, reach with hands and arms 1/3 of the time.
Work Environment: Moderate noise, functions will be carried out in areas with hospital blood borne and airborne pathogens exposure control plans.
