Description As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will:
- Produce two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings of internal organs for use by the physician in the diagnosis of disease and study of malfunction of organs.
- Perform ultrasonic diagnostic procedures of specified body areas by properly positioning patients and locating/scanning areas for interpretation as directed by the physician or radiologist.
- Explain procedures to patients and/or family members ensuring cooperation and optimum test results to reduce anxiety.
- Develop film using automatic film processing equipment and assemble all necessary patient information (i.e., history and past films/records). Deliver to Radiologist/Physician for interpretation/review following established procedures.
- Prepare or clean patient rooms by changing linens, stocking supplies, wiping off tables, and cleaning equipment, ensuring an efficient and clean working environment.
- Assist physicians with such procedures as needle biopsies, renal biopsies, etc. by scanning patients, marking the patient's body, and determining the angle of puncture as requested.
- Schedule patients as needed and ensure patients receive adequate service.
- Maintain patient information by purging or updating patient film jackets and/or filing reports or film files to ensure accurate patient records.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment by performing scheduled cleanings/tests and documenting results. Contact service personnel and notify supervision of malfunctioning equipment.
- Perform other related duties as directed to support the achievement of established goals and objectives.

Registration Requirements:
- Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
- New graduates: must be registered with ARDMS within two years of graduation; all other personnel must be registered with ARDMS within one year of hire.
- Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Sonography (S).
- Registered as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by the ARDMS within three years of hire.
- Registered in Vascular Sonography (VS) by the ARRT within three years of hire.
