Shift: Nights / 7p-7:30a, 12×3, 36 hrs per week, holiday rotation, 4 Weekend shifts per 4 week period
Length: 13 Weeks
Requirements:
- SC/Multi-State/Compact RN License
- 1 year NICU experience
- Level IV NICU experience
- Will accept Level III NICU experience on a case by case basis
- BLS
- NRP

The 82 bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is located in our MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital. The Neonatal ICU is the regional referral center for this area, providing care to premature and sick neonates. The Neonatal ICU provides medical and surgical care with most common diagnoses including prematurity, respiratory distress, and neonatal surgical conditions. In addition to respiratory and nutritional support, the NICU provides ECMO/CRRT and surgical support. Pediatric Palliative care is available as needed. The Neonatal ICU is located on the 5th floor of the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Hospital. The Neonatal ICU also supports an infant home monitoring program for infants requiring monitoring upon discharge. All Neonatal ICU beds are monitored beds. Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.
