The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) is responsible for providing direct customer-owner care in an assigned area of Behavioral Services. This position is a consult-based service in which we provide focused assessments, chart reviews, co-visits, and curbside consults for primary care physicians to support psychiatric needs.
Minimal Qualifications:
- Current Certification by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or American Nurse Credentialing Center, (NP) with added qualifications in psychiatry.
- Minimum two years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a multi-disciplinary setting, with prescriptive privileges OR successful completion of a behavioral health clinical rotation within the Southcentral Foundation system or comparable medical system.
- Must have a current valid Alaska license.
- Credentialing organizations must be covered by the requirements of the State of Alaska Board of Nursing.
- Must be eligible for DEA certification.
- Meets all requirements to obtain associate medical staff membership and required privileges of service.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO, and PALS as required for the specialty.
- Specialized expertise in psychopharmacology.
