Job Summary:
The Speech-Language Pathologist will work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement effective treatment programs.
- Provide counseling to patients and patients' families about results of testing and recommended treatment options.
- Establish patient understanding, expectations, and goals for treatment.
- Create accurate documentation and reporting for all patient visits.
- Maintain communication with staff and outside agencies per state guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with professionals from many other disciplines.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance plans.
- Familiarity with a variety of speech and cognitive disorders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to comply with all regulatory standards.
Education and Experience:
- Masters degree in speech language pathology or related field.
- Active Montana SLP license.
- 1-3 years speech language pathology experience.
- ASHA certification preferred.
- BLS certification.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
